MÜSİAD UK Chairwoman Av. Türkan Akbaş and association members took part in the Turkey–UK Business Forum, jointly organised by DEİK (Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye) and the Institute of Directors (IoD).

Strengthening Bilateral and Global Trade Partnerships

The forum brought together key figures from both countries’ business and policy communities, including:

  • Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, Minister of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye
  • Afzal Khan, UK Member of Parliament and Türkiye’s Trade Ambassador
  • Mr Nail Olpak, President of DEİK
  • Mr Andrew Lambert, President of the Institute of Directors
  • Mr Osman Oktay, representing IKB
  • Along with numerous influential representatives from the business world

The forum featured strategic discussions on the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Türkiye and the United Kingdom, with a particular emphasis on expanding trade cooperation with third countries — a direction that aligns closely with MÜSİAD UK’s long-term vision.

Global Collaboration at the Core of MÜSİAD UK’s Vision
