MÜSİAD UK Food Sector members, under the leadership of Chairwoman Av. Türkan Akbaş and coordinated by Dr Murat Bayizit, Vice Chairman of the Export Development and Institutional Relations Committee, participated in a series of B2B meetings held at the Copthorne Tara Hotel in London.

The meetings were organised in collaboration with the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) as part of a UR-GE (International Competitiveness Development Project).

Strengthening Trade Relations Between Türkiye and the UK

During the introductory session, strategic discussions took place between MÜSİAD UK members and Mr Burhan Sayılgan, Head of the Bursa Producers Delegation. The focus was on identifying actionable steps to strengthen trade between Türkiye and the United Kingdom, particularly in the food production and distribution sectors.

Product Tastings and One-on-One Engagement

Following the meeting, Chairwoman Akbaş and MÜSİAD UK members visited each exhibition stand individually, sampling products and engaging directly with the manufacturers.

Among the visitors was Board Member and renowned chef Mr Hüseyin Özer, who also took part in the product tastings and shared his professional insights with producers and exporters.

Business Development and Professional Consultancy

In addition to the food sector participants, MÜSİAD UK members operating in wholesale and retail trade held one-on-one meetings with factory representatives from Bursa, exploring potential business partnerships and supply channels.

Members who own accounting and consultancy firms also offered valuable guidance to participants interested in establishing a business presence in the UK, covering key regulatory and operational considerations.
