MÜSİAD UK proudly played a key role in the “Taste of Türkiye” event held at the UK Parliament, hosted by MP Afzal Khan, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Türkiye.

Beyond Participation: Strong Organisational Support

More than just participants, MÜSİAD UK served as a strategic contributor to the event. We actively supported the organisation, helping to identify suppliers, coordinate product selection, and guide member participation throughout the planning and execution of the event.

Many of the featured products were presented by MÜSİAD UK member companies, showcasing the richness and diversity of Turkish cuisine to a distinguished audience of Members of Parliament, Lords, and parliamentary staff.

A Taste of Türkiye: Featured Products and Presenters

The event introduced a wide array of Turkish delicacies, including:

  • Dried nuts and fruits – Hamidiye Food
  • Olive oil dishes and mezes – Sofra Restaurant
  • Traditional Turkish tea – Memo Cash & Carry
  • Turkish honey and ayran – Aytaç Food
  • Assorted Turkish cheeses – Ekstra Cash & Carry
  • Chocolate delights – Robin Foods

Additionally, through our coordination, Levent Börek joined the event, offering visitors a delightful introduction to the flavours of traditional Turkish pastries.

High-Level Engagement and Cultural Impact

The event drew significant interest within Parliament, with MPs, Lords, and other attendees enthusiastically engaging with the culinary displays. It was also attended by MÜSİAD UK Chairwoman Av. Türkan Akbaş and members of the board, who supported our member companies and represented our organisation’s commitment to cultural diplomacy.

Food as a Bridge Between Nations

Events like Taste of Türkiye serve as meaningful platforms to strengthen cultural and economic ties between Türkiye and the United Kingdom. At MÜSİAD UK, we believe that diplomacy often begins with shared experiences — and sometimes, those experiences begin at the table.
