Our founder, İbrahim Cevahir, first initiated our construction activities in 1958, and in 1967 the Cevahirler Komandit company was established through the partnership of the Cevahir brothers. As a group, we carried out construction and contracting works in various infrastructure and superstructure fields such as schools, hospitals, water and sewage networks, and bridges. Project obligations were completed in full and with success, enabling the company to earn nationwide trust and international recognition. As a result, in 1975 the Libya Construction and Trade Consortium was established, marking the company’s expansion abroad. Following the company’s success in Libya, Cevahirler Construction and Contracting Limited was founded in 1978 to commence operations in Saudi Arabia, where numerous successful projects were also delivered.
With its accumulated experience, project execution capability, and large capacity, the company began developing its own projects in 1990. In addition to predominantly tourism-focused developments, it also proved successful in new sectors. The completion of the ‘The Plaza Hotel’ project in 1995, for which it undertook the investment, marked the company’s entry into the fields of tourism and hotel management. Beyond this, it established a presence in the service sector through the development of commercial and office spaces, and in the mining industry with the investment in a perlite production facility. By managing all phases of major, internationally recognised projects—from planning, investment, and construction to operation and marketing—within its own structure, the company has become one of Turkey’s leading firms. In line with our mission to achieve firsts, we successfully completed landmark projects ranging from Europe’s largest shopping and indoor entertainment centre of its time, to Turkey’s largest ballroom and convention hotel, as well as Macedonia’s tallest towers. With a total construction area of 280,000 square metres, the company earned the distinction of delivering the largest private sector investment by Turkey in the Balkans.
